David has worked in community based mental health services in the UK for over thirty years developing services for people with complex care needs and enduring mental health problems in a career spanning the voluntary sector, local authority services, and the NHS.. From 2009 - 2011 he was the Dementia Implementation Lead for Commissioning Support for London, working with commissioners across London to improve dementia services. He is an independent writer and researcher on dementia support and services for Black and minority ethnic communities, working with a number of projects and initiatives.

Dr. Majaz Moonis is a neurologist in Worcester, Massachusetts and is affiliated with multiple hospitals in the area, including Health Alliance Hospital and UMass Memorial Medical Center. He received his medical degree from Delhi University College of Medical Sciences and has been in practice for more than 20 years. Dr. Moonis accepts several types of health insurance, listed below. He is one of 24 doctors at Health Alliance Hospital and one of 81 at UMass Memorial Medical Center who specialize in Neurology.

My research focuses on several interrelated areas that affect stroke and dementia outcomes. More specifically I am interested in the following areas: Outcome research related to specific interventions affecting the vascular endothelium in stroke and Alzheimer’s disease; health care disparities relating to race, age and gender in stroke and dementia; optimal management and effects on primary and secondary stroke prevention; genetic markers in cryptogenic stroke to aid in sub-classification and management; clinical trials in acute stroke and stroke prevention; data mining in sleep related disorders; and stroke.

Dr. Pant received his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in Physics from Agra University, Agra, India. His postdoctoral studies were conducted on the mechanisms of electron and ion transport in model membrane systems at the Department of Biophysics at Michigan State University. He joined the Laboratory of Neurobiology in the NIMH as a senior staff fellow in 1974 with Dr. Ichiji Tasaki where he studied the function of the axonal cytoskeleton in the squid giant axon. In 1979 he moved to the NIAAA extending his studies on the neuronal cytoskeleton and the effects of alcohol on its regulation. Dr. Pant moved to the NINDS, Laboratory of Neurochemistry in 1987 where he is presently chief of the section on Cytoskeleton Regulation. His laboratory is studying the mechanisms of topographic regulation of neuronal cytoskeleton proteins by post-translational modification, including the role of kinase cascades in normal brain and during neurodegeneration

The major focus of this laboratory has been to study the mechanisms of topographic regulation of neuronal cytoskeletal proteins regulation by phosphorylation and neurodegeneration.

Dr Girouard completed her PhD in cardiovascular physiology in 2002 at the Université de Montreal under the supervision of Dr J. de Champlain, a specialist in the field of hypertension. She then pursued with two fellowships both on the study of cerebrovascular regulation: one at the Weill Medical College of Cornell University and a second one at the University of Vermont under the supervisions of Dr. Costantino Iadecola and Dr Mark T. Nelson, respectively. She is now associate professor at the Department of pharmacology and physiology at the Université de Montréal and the director of the laboratory of neurovascular pharmacology since 2008. Along her career, Dr Girouard received prices including the Merck New investigator price of the ‘Société Québécoise d’Hypertension Artérielle’ and the Young Investigator Award from the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada. She recently was nominated Fellow of the American Heart Association. She is involved in many Societies related to Hypertension and neurosciences in particular the ‘Société Québécoise d’Hypertension Artérielle’ and the ‘International Society of Cerebral Blood Flow and Metabolism’ in which she is member of the Board of Directors.

The research interests of Dr Girouard are the study of the mechanisms underlying cerebrovascular regulation in health and diseases especialy in the context of hypertension and arterial stiffness. The main objective of her research is to find therapeutical targets to protect the brain from vascular diseases. To reach this objective, she is using various techniques from molecular biology to brain imaging in mice and humans. She published mostly in the field of hypertension and cerebrovascular regulation.

Panteleimon Giannakopoulos has completed his MD at age of 23 years from the University of Athens and is board certified psychiatrist and psychotherapist from 1999. He completed his postgraduate training in London and Paris before taking the chair of old age psychiatry in Geneva. He has also a full training in cognitive neurosciences focusing on dementing conditions. He was the chairman of the Department of Psychiatry in Geneva from 2005 to 2015 before being appointed as medical director of the Forensic Psychiatry for the Geneva county. He has published more than 220 peer-reviewed articles (h index: 42), and has been serving as an editorial board member and reviwer of repute.

Dr Meguro was educated at the Tohuku University at both undergraduate and post-graduate level. He obtained his PhD in Neurology and Geriatric Medicine. He has vast work experiences at the Centre-CYCERON-INSERM, in France and the ADRC, Washington University in St. Louis, School of Medicine. From 2005 till present, he is a Professor at the Department of Geriatric Behavioral Neurology, Tohoku University Graduate School of Medicine. He is board-certified by the Japanese Academic Societies in the specialty of Internal Medicine, Clinical Neurology, Stroke Medicine, Geriatric Psychiatry, Dementia Medicine. He sat on the editorial Board of prestigious journal such as the Alzheimer Disease Associated Disorders, Dementia & Neuropsychology and the International Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease

Dr Priya Sharda spent her formative years building her career in one of the largest bed occupancy hospital, Hospital Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. After coming out as a Neurosurgeon from University Sains Malaysia (USM), she spent another year there before embarking into another era in the Northern region of Malaysia’s’ primary tertiary Hospital for Neurosurgery, Penang General Hospital. Dr. Mohammad Mohsin Ali Farazi was born in 13th march 1969 in Bagerhat district, BANGLADESH. He obtained his MBBS from Sher-E-Bangla Medical College, Barisal, BANGLADESH in January 1995. After completion of internship training he joined in Government service in 1997. He served many government hospitals with efficiency and dignity. He completed his post graduation MS (Masters of Neurosurgery) from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), Dhaka , BANGLADESH in July 2008. After that he posted as Junior consultant (Neurosurgery) in Shaheed Sheikh Abu Naser Specialized Hospital, Khulna, BANGLADESH. Now he is working as Assistant Professor (Neurosurgery) in the same hospital. He did many Neurosurgical procedures both emergency and routine. He attended in many national and International conferences in home and abroad. He presented scientific papers in many seminars and symposiums. WK Tang was appointed to professor in the Department of Psychiatry, the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2011. Professor Tang completed his medical training at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He joined the Chinese University of Hong Kong as an academic staff since 1999. His main research area is Neuropsychiatry in Stroke. Professor Tang has published over 100 papers in renowned journals, and has also contributed to the peer review of 40 journals. He has secured over 20 major competitive research grants. Mohammad Nazrul Hossain, passed MBBS from Sir Salimullah Medical College, Dhaka, Bangladesh in 2000. He got his fellowship in Neurosurgery from Bangladesh College of Physician and Surgeons (BCPS) in 2012.He was the first fellow in his subject from BCPS.His study was acknowledged by the BCPS and published in their journal. After successful completion of his fellowship he joined and worked in a world renowned chain hospital “APOLLO”, Dhaka, Bangladesh as neurosurgeon. During his neurosurgical carrier he worked with famous neurosurgeons of both national and international level. He joined “Jalalabad Ragib-Rabeya Medical College and Hospital” from Apollo in 2013 and established a fully new Neurosurgery department and serving the people of this area with their satisfaction.
